Help:FormatLinks

You can set internal omdb links very conveniently in the Wiki Editor using the third button from the right in the toolbar, see Help:Links for more information. But you can also link manually to an internal or external page.

Links to omdb internal pages

omdb hat eine eigene Logik, wie mittels Link-Codes auf die unterschiedlichen Informationen der Datenbank zugegriffen werden kann.

  • movies [[m:movie_number]]
  • additional articles [[m:movie_number:article_name]]
  • persons [[p:person_number]]
  • characters [[ch:character_number]]
  • companies [[co:company_number]]
  • categories [[ca:category_number]]
  • keywords [[ca:keyword_number]]

The numbers are in the urls of the respective pages.

Tip for deviating link labeling: If a text deviating from the name of the target is to be displayed as a link, this is possible with the help of a vertical line (|, so-called pipe, accessible on the keyboard via ALT GR+<). The vertical line is simply placed in the square brackets and the different link text is entered behind it: [[target article|alternative text]].

Links to external pages

To add a link to an external page, you first have to write the link text in quotation marks and then after a colon the URL. If the URL ends with a bracket or some other symbol, you can add als the URL in quotation marks.

Example:

You can find anything at Wikipedia

has to look like this:

You can find anything at "Wikipedia":https://en.wikipedia.org

But to link to “Romeo and Juliet (1968 film)” you have to use brackets:

See the movie Romeo and Juliet from 1968

is written like this:

See the movie "Romeo and Juliet":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romeo_and_Juliet_(1968_film)" from 1968
