Jimmie lives with his friend Montgomery in a poor, black neighborhood on the outskirts of San Francisco. However, he regularly drives into town to a Victorian house that his grandfather built but the family later lost. He is not at all pleased with the way the current owners treat the house, and when it becomes vacant, he simply moves in.
