A little clerk (Harold Lloyd in his most famous role) tries unsuccessfully to earn money for his wedding in the big city. However, he pretends to his fiancée that he has a managerial position. When she unexpectedly comes to visit, he organizes a spectacular climbing event on the facade of his department store to get some money.
