American horror movie from 1998 in which a number of students die under mysterious circumstances. The plot is based on a series of "urban legends", i.e. modern fairy tales and bizarre anecdotes, which are usually passed on orally or by email and thus become known to a large circle of people. The movie had considerable commercial success.
