The widowed Jeanne Dielman lives with her son Sylvain in Brussels and leads a seemingly normal housewife's life: cooking, cleaning and knitting are the orderly and uneventful tasks of her life. If it weren't for the visits from men she receives every afternoon while her son is at school.
