After the death of his wife Mary, Dr. Watson is devastated. He blames Holmes for what happened and refuses all contact. The detective, for his part, has fallen off the wagon and is back on the hook. When he accuses a famous millionaire and philanthropist of being a serial killer, Watson is also drawn into the events that follow.
