Kidnapped in Berlin by the Stasi in 1952, Walter Linse was a West German lawyer, member of the Association of Free German Jurists, and opponent of the East German regime, who had been exposing legal abuses within the GDR. Abducted from West Berlin, he was taken into the Soviet zone and then eventually moved to Moscow where he would die in 1953.
