The young jazz drummer Andrew wants to become the best and is glad that Terence Fletcher, the renowned leader of a band at his music conservatory, wants him to join the band. But the sadistic Fletcher demands top performance and works with psychological tricks. Andrew's ambition, however, knows no bounds.
