Monk's father-in-law invites him to Los Angeles because he suspects fraud on a TV game show he is producing. Since Sharona is not there, Monk is accompanied by his annoying neighbor Kevin. While he tries to find out how the contestant is cheating, he is confronted with many memories of his dead wife Trudy at his in-laws' house.
