Monk is on his way back from an event with Natalie and her daughter when they get stuck in a traffic jam due to a car accident. Monk immediately realizes that the supposed accident victim has been murdered, but the police don't want to know anything about it. Natalie is disappointed that Monk is only interested in the case, but not in what happened to her and her daughter.
