Lieutenant Adam Kirk meets an informant at the fairground. He insists that they talk on the Ferris wheel. But when they are in the air, the informant starts screaming that he is being attacked and soon lies stabbed to death in the gondola. Lieutenant Kirk swears he didn't do anything. Monk, meanwhile, hopes to be able to return to police duty soon.
