A 16-year-old girl disappears in a mountain village. The well-known Inspector Vogel travels to the remote place to take over the investigation. His methods are controversial, as he works closely with the press and is not so particular about evidence. A huge media frenzy soon brings unrest to the village, especially when a suspect is found.
