Third cinematic adaptation of the science fiction novel series of the same name by Frank Herbert. The plot of the film is based on the first half of the first book and is continued in the second part from 2024. The noble Atreides family and their son Paul are supposed to monitor the extraction of the miracle substance Spice on a planet, but are lured into a trap.
