Sal Mineo was an American film actor. His real name was Salvatore Mineo. Mineo was born on January 10, 1939 in New York. He died on February 12, 1976 in West Hollywood. He became known as a supporting actor in the James Dean films “Giant” and “Rebel Without a Cause”. He was nominated for an Oscar for “Exodus”. The end of the character actor's life was sad: he was stabbed to death by a thief in the underground garage of his apartment.
