Mr. Monk meets a stranger in a dark bar who offers him a lot of money if he takes something from the stranger's house. It's Derek Bronson, who everyone thinks is dead, which he wants to keep it that way because, to Mr. Monk's great shock, he has leprosy. Monk fears he has contracted the disease, so Natalie takes him to a specialist, Dr. Aaron Polanski.
