During a store robbery, clues are found that indicate that the perpetrator is the one who killed Mr. Monk's wife Trudy years ago with a car bomb. Monk unravels a coded message that takes him to a place where he meets the perpetrator. He is shot dead - and all the evidence points to Mr. Monk. Sheriff John Rollins is certain he has the culprit.
