The most important formatting for text is bold and italic. Both can be easily formatted with the buttons of the Toolbar in the editing window. Additionally, you can format a selected section of text as an indented quote using the “Mark this text as a quote” button.
There are also other ways of designing the text of an article. However, you should use this special formatting very sparingly. If possible, you should not use lower or upper case text, hard line breaks, paragraphs with double or multiple blank lines, colors and similar special formatting in the articles in order to ensure a uniform appearance of the articles.

Use of italic text
Italic text is used very frequently. For example:
- A movie title that has not yet been included in the omdb is always written in italics.
- A movie title that has already been included in the omdb is written both in italics and as a link.
- Likewise, literature, pieces of music and other media (e.g. computer games) are always written in italics.
- Personal names, company names or similar are not written in italics.
