Because the school has to close for a while, Milhouse studies at home. Father Kirk learns that the school is also teaching about a disaster for which his great-grandfather, as mayor, was to blame. Kirk launches a crusade against it and gets the parents on his side. Meanwhile, Homer tries to earn money with special shirts.
