The film tells the true story of Murat Kurnaz's illegal imprisonment in Guantanamo Bay from his mother's point of view. Shortly after the September 11 attacks, Murat is captured as a terrorist suspect in Pakistan and taken to Guantanamo. His mother, a simple but courageous woman, tries everything with her lawyer for years to get him released.
